Understanding pH Levels in Common Cleaners

Most of the time, pressure and heat alone are not enough to remove tough stains. Chemicals are used in the pressure washing industry to speed up the cleaning process. There is no such thing as a magic elixir that will clean any stain. Knowing which class of chemical to use in a particular cleaning situation and the strength of the chemical will allow you to achieve more predictable results. What exactly makes a chemical strong? How can you be sure that a chemical is strong enough to remove a stain without damaging the underlying surface? A basic understanding of the pH levels of the chemicals you are mixing is needed to determine the strength of a solution.
